Minorities, Human Rights, and Political Activism

Woman and child, Nalgad, Jajarkot, Nepal

At a recent project meeting in Kathmandu in connection with preparing the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed Nalgad Hydropower Project (located in Jajarkot Dt.), an EIA team member (a professor at the Central Dept. of Anthropology, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu) had an interesting suggestion.

I am invited to lecture to M.Phil students. I am free to choose the topic. I thought about this for a while, and suggested several topics. We agreed on the title "Indigenous Peoples - Between Human Rights and Political Activism". This will likely be in September. Nice!
